As you probably know by now stress is a big thing in our lives nowadays. It’s even a big killer!
So I have decided to share 5 factors to kicking stress out of your life. Some of these factors are through using physical methods and some are more on the mindset side.
If you are starting off your way to getting a fitter lifestyle, I would recommend walking as a good starting point. A reason being it is a light way to exercise with learning how to control you’re breathing and getting the heart rate pumping especially if you have had a break from exercise for a long time.
Try not to overlook a walk as an effective exercise method as you can always increase your speed at any time to start working those legs or you can easily go for a bit of a challenge walking up hills to really get those legs burning.
Benefits also are that you can choose to walk a beautiful scenic view alongside nature which is always relaxing too.
Another way for you to start walking more would be to cut out the daily routine habits of taking lifts rather than walking up the stairs, or walking to a friend’s house that lives close to you than driving over to them. Walking will relax your body and mind, plus a great way to collect your thoughts together. All of this adds up in the end so get walking!
This is the next level up from walking. It will certainly do the trick for releasing stress, as when you are jogging along you might have around half a mile to go so you have to really start getting focused because the burn starts creeping in which means you haven’t got time to think about any of the stressful things that are happening at work or in your lives. I have found Jogging is more than just an exercise, and I still continue to jog for pleasure along with my martial fitness exercises.
Once you have finished your run, you will find that you have released all the build up of negative energy you have had over the day. It feels great!
This one is obviously my favourite as it is my living! First of all don’t get put off by thinking combat is about beating people up, because if you speak to any of the decent martial artist’s out their they will tell you the same.
It’s more about channelling your energies into something with creating a result. That’s why I’m here to help you do this.
You can learn tons of different techniques and routines to practice which is great for variety so you don’t get easily bored which keeps you focused and on track, but you will find that you only need a hand full of routines and techniques that will help transform your lifestyle and most of all relieve stress!
Some of the best routines in combat arts to release the rough hormones out of our bodies are striking pads. This really is a fantastic method of sweating it all out and working the body to the full. After a workout like this you really start to look good and more importantly feel great! (I have a program coming out soon where i will be sharing my routines with you, so keep your eye out for it.)
4. Goals equal progression and satisfaction
Now the above factors are all through the physical, but now we need to move on to the creating a powerful mindset. To do this all you need is a pen and paper and to start listing down the goals to want to achieve through fitness. For examples it could be losing 14 pounds, wanting to fit into that amazing suit/dress or wanting to have longevity to see your children/grand children grow up. All of your desires and dreams need to be wrote down to remind yourself on what you actually want, because half of the time we get so side tracked in our busy life’s we always need reminding to stay on track.
You will then need to decide how you are going to get there. How much time and effort you put in soon adds up to a great result!
Once to start meeting your achievable goals you have wrote down you will feel the progression and start to be proud of what you are doing which turns out with you having a lifestyle with less stress and more happiness and satisfaction.
Now please before I start don’t get put off by thinking that you have to sit down and tangle your legs together while touching finger tips. But don’t get me wrong if that’s the way how you want to do it and it works for you go for it!
Just remember it’s not about the colour of the cat that kills the mice! It’s more about bringing your inner self into complete relaxation. You see that is what meditating is about. You can meditate with eyes open or shut, but the main key is to find a quiet place to be tranquil in.
If you have had a busy and stressful week it’s always good to reflect and have gratitude for what you have done, and start to take the positives out of everything. It is basically putting yourself back into centre where you should be.
It’s really easy to get stressed out and blame others for you being stressed, but that just leads you off track of where you want to be.
If you give yourself time, it will defiantly serve you back and start to calm your body and mind together. Just give it a go and tell me what you think!
Well there you have it, 5 factors to kicking stress out of your life. The main thing to remember is that you do not need to go out straight away and do all of this at the same time as it may be a little over whelming at the moment. I would personally suggest to start implementing the above factors one at a time.
The aim of this article is to help people and show them different ways to release stress in their lives, through physical and mindset methods. Please share this and help inspire others.
All the best,
Richard Huntley
