How To Achieve Great Things In 2010!

Decide what you want

Okay, so first of all starting off in 2010, you will need to know and understand what you want to accomplish in the year. Basically, what do you want to experience within the year?

Most people seem to not get the best results for getting the bodies and lifestyles in shape throughout the year because they simply do not know what they want. You need to think of it as a road map. Right now you are planning for where you want to go. If you don’t know where you are going, sorry but you will not be going anywhere.

When deciding what to want to do in 2010, don’t settle for less than you want, you have to stop saying: I don’t know, I don’t care, or may or whatever. You need to take control and turn these negative responses into positive ones such as: I can and I am or I am going to.

Make a list – One of the easiest ways to find clarity in what you want to do, is to write down a list of what you exactly want. It could be to lose a stone in weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Or to exercise consistently three times a week. This exercise of writing a list will only take around 15 minutes to think things over and write them down. So make sure you get out that pen and paper and start writing!

Visualization

It is definitely true that the higher achievers in life have bigger visions. They don’t put limitations on things. Once you decide in what you want the next stage is the visualization period. So going by the examples used before with maybe wanting to lose a certain amount of weight in 2010, the vision process for this would be to understand and clearly see in your mind what you look like from an observer’s position and what you feel like from a personal view.

One of my visions as a young boy growing up through to my teenage years would be visualising myself as a full time martial arts instructor. I would draw pictures of me teaching others, and I also wrote down one day of how I would be competing at a high standard international tournament in sport Jujutsu.

Cut a long story short, by the time I was 17 years old I was on the mat teaching around the UK with my father and by 18 I had my own private classes I would be teaching. At 21 years old I competed in a world martial art games tournament.

So let me say from experiencing the power of visualization myself, I strongly recommend you do this to achieve what you want in 2010 and throughout life.

Believe In Yourself!

This one’s a big one. If you are going to achieve what you set out to do, you need to believe that you are capable to achieve such things.

You need to be around people who believe in you and support you in your life. This is one of the keys to success in anything you want to achieve in life. You must have good people around you, helping you strive forward.

You need to give up “I Can’t” and all of its related words, they will just hold you back and keep you on track for nothing but procrastinating.

You need to start conditioning your mind that you can and you will, this is what will smash procrastination away from you and go on striving forward towards success.

Just remember that it’s our beliefs that change our results, so start believing.

Take 100% Responsibility

First of all, give up the blame game; it doesn’t lead you to anywhere except an unfulfilled person with blaming others for the position that you are in right now with the choices you have made. You need to keep all of your positive energy to yourself and not blame others for your faults, as you will only direct your energy in the wrong place.

It’s the choices you make to where you have ended up now, so take this into consideration and think about the choices you make in your life right now and what changes you could make in 2010 to make it a more successful year with your new lifestyle.

Just remember that you can’t change the past, but you can right now start to make the change for your future!

Keep Focused

Keep your eyes on the prize! Learning the art of staying focused can bring you through the rough times, especially through the rollercoaster ride of emotions. Learn to master your emotions and keep focused on what you want in 2010.

Talk to the positive people who are going to uplift you in 2010, rather than speaking to people who are doubtful and not willing to fulfil their own lives let alone yours.

Goals

Goals are extremely important for knowing exactly where you want to be heading with achieving your lifestyle goals.
As I mentioned right at the start with deciding what you want, it is to know where you want to go on the map. Well with goals, it’s the road map for how you are going to get to that destination you set out to achieve. The goals will really help you guide yourself there. Don’t forget also that you can always add to your goals which you have set out too.

I would have to say though, that more importantly with the goals is to make sure that you are specific! Too many people are not specific enough to understand what they are actually aiming for. The more specific the better I say. So rather than writing down your goal for 2010 as, “I want to lose weight and be thinner in 2010.” You should write down something along the lines of “I am going to lose a stone in body weight in 2010, and most of all maintain it with a balanced lifestyle of exercising 3x a week and not over eating when I am bored or stressed out.”

Don’t forget that you need to write more than one goal to really stretch yourself and start to see growth in 2010.

Take Action

Action is the most important thing of all, as with no action nothing will be achieved. You can have all the books a gather all of the inspirational material out there in the world but without actually putting anything into practice would be like learning how to ride a bike without actually getting on and falling off a few times to only pick yourself up and get straight back on again.

So remember, do not hold yourself back and take action right away!

Commitment

Lastly you need to stay committed to what you have set out to achieve in 2010. You won’t achieve much if you do not stay committed on what you want. Commitment is a key factor in successfully achieving goals in life, and the most successful people in the world are the most committed to what they want in life.

So there are my tips on having a fantastic year for 2010 with achieving your lifestyle goals and beyond! You can use these methods above for anything you wish to achieve in 2010.

All the best for a great 2010!

This is an amazing story i felt that i had to share with you, as it is so inspiring on achieving great things.

Increase Energy Levels By Doing This One Thing

fit girl Okay, so you want to keep your energy levels high?

When we are in our busy day schedules it’s a must to keep our energy levels up throughout the day if we want to get the best out of us.

I have always been an energetic guy; ever since I was young I would be running around everywhere and hardly keeping still. That’s how I got into the martial arts with learning how to channel my energies correctly.

When training in exercise I want to get the best out of every moment i train, in perfecting technique or increasing my overall all conditioning. For this you must have the energy flow there to succeed.

There is actually quite a lot of different ways to keep your energy levels up high.

Okay, so one thing which I will personally share with you now is to learn that when exercising you need to find a balance.

What I mean by this is that a balance throughout the effort which is put in the workout.

You see, if you over do it when exercising you will simply have no more energy to get anything else done after so your body will be drained.

This can be hard sometimes, and don’t get me wrong sometimes you just got to go for it and really get out of the comfort zone as I call it.

But there sure is a difference between getting out of you comfort zone and getting burnt out every time you workout. This is no fun and you will soon get put off by this.

At the same time I say this you must not forget about not putting enough effort in. If you just half heartedly exercise with minimal effort you will get nothing out of it, so I think the key is to listen to your body.

Understanding that you should have a nicely balanced lifestyle to really enjoy the perks out of life. A balanced method of thinking and doing is great to bring into your life now, from the way you exercise to the way you eat and even spend time with friends and family.

You see, this is much more than just getting your body in shape, it’s getting your life in shape too.

So there’s your one method to increasing your energy/conditioning levels. What you need to do now is put this into practice.

All the Best,

10 Basic Laws Of Self Improvement

It’s been over 2 decades since when I first was introduced by my father to martial arts. I was just a little nipper with a huge load of energy bubbling away inside me.

My father had been in combat for a long time so he passed on his knowledge to me over the years and everything else around me has just blossomed into a beautiful way of living.

I really believe that if while we are on this wonderful planet, we should always being seeking ways to improve ourselves all the time. If you are not learning you are not living I say!

I have always kept a real open mind in learning and I think that is a big part of being successful when you look at some of the greats in the world.

So who am I to give you some advice on self improvement? Well like I said before, I have been doing this for over 2 decades now and I have literally seen the high and low points in my martial art life so far.

I have been at the stages of nearly throwing in the towel when the times get tough, but I have always had great mentors around me to show me the way.

I am here now to show you the way, and below are #10 Basic Laws of Self Improvement…

Law #1 Always know what you want. (As an old proverb says – as long as you are facing in the right direction, all you need to do is keep on walking.)

Law #2 Focus – Keep your eyes on the prize

Law #3 Enjoy the journey – Life is a journey, enjoy it!

Law #4 Be Tenacious – Never give up

Law #5 Invest in yourself – Get the information you need, and read more.

Law #6 Find a good mentor – This is what sky rocketed me higher towards success. A good mentor/coach will have a fantastic way of teaching you, and helping you understand things more clearly.

Law #7 Set realistic goals in stages – For example: Don’t write down I want to run a marathon with a week of training. Keep it real, and work up the progression stages.

Law #8 Don’t just say it, prove it! – Be the change you want to see.

Law #9 Get out of your comfort zone – This is where your hidden gems success hide.

Law #10 Give more, what goes around comes around. So if you give out negative comments and criticism all the time be prepared to get it in return. But the good news is if you give out kindness and positive things this will also come back in return.

Okay, so do you have Law #11 you wish to add?

If so, I would love to hear them.

The 4 Minute Mile

I am personally big on people achieving great things in their lives if they put the hard work in and determination to strive for success.

I know this because i am living proof and my father and other mentors of mine are exactly the same in really understanding what great potential we have.

But to get yourself on the right track to success you need to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself how will other believe in you.

Many years ago people tried and test to see how fast they could run a mile. Lots of people were successful in reaching the time of just over 4 minutes when completing the mile run, but nobody could seem to break the 4 minute barrier.

People tried so much that most people thought it was just not humanly possible, and our human bodies could not do such a thing.

A man by the name of Roger Bannister had the belief that this was possible and went through the stages of visualization training along with physical training.

He failed to break the barrier in under 4 minutes lots of times, but rather than throwing in the towel as most other people had done before, he kept that tenacious attitude and in 1954 he broke that barrier of running a mile in under 4 minutes.

The crazy thing is after people had seen roger break that record, soon after around 14 other people ran the mile in under 4 minutes too.

This was an incredible story in itself, just to understand the truth of using your belief system as your fuel to get you where you want to be and strive to success.

What brings a smile to my face even more is since then high school kids have run a mile in under 4 minutes.

So remember, don’t give up keep on believing in yourself and your abilities. We all have great potential.

All the best,
Richard Huntley

5 Ways To Make More Time For Yourself!

5 ways to make more time for yourself!

Here is my 5 ways to make more time for yourself with getting in the best shape of your life. This is a very important subject as it’s a real must to put the time in to progress ourselves to achieving more in life and keeping our bodies fit and healthy as we do only have one of them.

If you can even put a few of these into practice you will defiantly start see a difference appear within yourself.

1. Cut down the T.V Hours
If you really want more time for yourself you need to stop watching the television as much and have a limit to how much you watch. Feed your brain with good and positive information when you watch to keep you on peak in the day. (Don’t spend hours wasting time watching the news all the time.)

2. Get up an hour earlier
This is one of my favourites to feel like you are really steeling time for yourself. Decide to get up an hour earlier in the morning to make more time for you throughout the day. With this you can have a workout for 20 minutes in the morning and still have plenty of time to get ready for your day ahead of you.

3. Schedule more time for yourself
Start to think about putting together a schedule for you to work from throughout the day. This way you know exactly what you are going to do and when to fit in your workout.

4. Get active
The best way to get in shape is to keep active throughout the day. Start to prioritize your activities to make more time for yourself. This way you invest the time into yourself wisely and have lots of fun along the way. Make sure you choose the activities that are important to you and will help you grow as a person. We all need to progress!

5. Plan ahead & Take action
The final stage will be to make sure you plan ahead from what you are going to achieve throughout the day/week along with your schedule. This way you know exactly what you are heading towards. If you want to get in the best shape of your life you need to make the time for yourself, and take action right away.

All the best,

Richard Huntley
