10 Basic Laws Of Self Improvement

It’s been over 2 decades since when I first was introduced by my father to martial arts. I was just a little nipper with a huge load of energy bubbling away inside me.

My father had been in combat for a long time so he passed on his knowledge to me over the years and everything else around me has just blossomed into a beautiful way of living.

I really believe that if while we are on this wonderful planet, we should always being seeking ways to improve ourselves all the time. If you are not learning you are not living I say!

I have always kept a real open mind in learning and I think that is a big part of being successful when you look at some of the greats in the world.

So who am I to give you some advice on self improvement? Well like I said before, I have been doing this for over 2 decades now and I have literally seen the high and low points in my martial art life so far.

I have been at the stages of nearly throwing in the towel when the times get tough, but I have always had great mentors around me to show me the way.

I am here now to show you the way, and below are #10 Basic Laws of Self Improvement…

Law #1 Always know what you want. (As an old proverb says – as long as you are facing in the right direction, all you need to do is keep on walking.)

Law #2 Focus – Keep your eyes on the prize

Law #3 Enjoy the journey – Life is a journey, enjoy it!

Law #4 Be Tenacious – Never give up

Law #5 Invest in yourself – Get the information you need, and read more.

Law #6 Find a good mentor – This is what sky rocketed me higher towards success. A good mentor/coach will have a fantastic way of teaching you, and helping you understand things more clearly.

Law #7 Set realistic goals in stages – For example: Don’t write down I want to run a marathon with a week of training. Keep it real, and work up the progression stages.

Law #8 Don’t just say it, prove it! – Be the change you want to see.

Law #9 Get out of your comfort zone – This is where your hidden gems success hide.

Law #10 Give more, what goes around comes around. So if you give out negative comments and criticism all the time be prepared to get it in return. But the good news is if you give out kindness and positive things this will also come back in return.

Okay, so do you have Law #11 you wish to add?

If so, I would love to hear them.

I write down my goals in a 2010 goals booklet. It is always in my wallet and I review it regularly. It keeps me focused on what really matters to me.

    Enjoy and success!

look one step ahead. not at the finish line – look at it one step at a time in easy little chunks. not as one big obstical cource.
